About the Author

Benjamin Clay

Meet the creative mind shaping the stories and insights shared below.

Welcome to the home of my literary work and my journey as an author. I’m Benjamin Clay — a logistics specialist by day, writer by night. My days are spent in one office; my nights, in another, crafting stories and exploring strange worlds. I’m a man of many hats: I paint landscapes, draw whatever comes to mind, experiment in the kitchen with my own cookie recipes, and make terrible music that’s more experimental than good (not that I’ll ever share it).

I write dark speculative science fiction; some of my work leans towards the literary genre, but science and space are where my heart is.

I’m a simple guy with big dreams.

Meet Benjamin Clay

Step behind the curtain to learn more about Benjamin Clay’s works—what inspires him, why he writes, and how his stories come to life.

What inspires Benjamin Clay’s stories?

Benjamin draws inspiration from personal experiences, history, and the world around him. His father, an engineer, fostered an early fascination with space, science, and the unknown. As a child, Benjamin devoured books—especially science fiction and fantasy—immersing himself in the works of Michael Crichton, Stephen King, and Isaac Asimov. As he grew older, his tastes evolved, broadening his appreciation for stories that explore the strange, the human, and the extraordinary. Yet through it all, his love for science fiction never waned—it simply deepened.

Why do you write?

Writing is a beast to be tamed—a confidant and companion through the dark hours of the night. Benjamin always loved to write, but it wasn’t until the loss of a close friend that he truly turned to the page. What began as grief became purpose, and what was once a pastime grew into a lifelong pursuit of meaning through words.

An introduction to the writing process.

Benjamin’s stories begin with questions that strike close to home. He writes about the things that make us uncomfortable—the fears we bury, the choices we regret, the moments that change us. Each story is an attempt to challenge both himself and the reader to think deeper, confronting what it means to be human.
